We have been responding to a 42 unit apartment fire with 60+ people displaced. The fire happened last night. A Temporary shelter was established for displaced residents at 2600 W. Wisconsin Ave. (The Red Cross offices). This morning, clients were transported to a shelter that we opened at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Many responders have been involed in the early stages of a larger response that will most likely become a Disaster Relief operation (DRO). Thank you to the many responders who assisted today. We will be asking for volunteers to fulfil a variety of assignments in the coming days.
Milwaukee shelter OPEN: our teams are bringing comfort, meals & lodging to people displaced by a fire overnight on the 5300 block of Teutonia Ave. This afternoon, we're bringing people to a new shelter at Redeemer Lutheran, N. 19th St. & W. Wisconsin Ave. If affected, join us.

Last night, our disaster volunteers welcomed 17 people from the 30-unit building to a temporary shelter at our Milwaukee office.
Those affected can join us at the new shelter or call 800 236 8680.
Thank you to our partners Redeemer, @RideMCTS, @MilFireDept & @MilwaukeePolice.
