First person: volunteer connects with shelter client facing “new beginning” after apartment fire

This article describes the impressions of a new Red Cross volunteer encountering on of our diplaced residents in a Red Cross shelter. Thank you to all responders who have been taking on sheltering in addition to their regular Disaster Action Team activities.

Wisconsin Response Update

We have had a busy few days. In addition to these responses, we have provided sheltering, feeding, mass care, and individual disaster care for households through DR553-22 (Disaster Relief Operation related to a Multi Family Fire in Milwaukee) last week. Thank you all involved.

Milwaukee – 3 MFF Responses

This evening our Teams assisted clients from three separate Multi Family Fires. Five households were assisted in the St. Joseph’s neighborhood. Four households were assisted in the Lincoln Village neighborhood. Two households in the Town and Country neighborhood were assisted. Thank you to those who responded: Bob Nelson, Holly De Young, Matt Fox, Federico Materazzi, Chris Christinrajah (Response & Situational Awareness Manager), Jenny Legaspi (DPM-NW Wisconsin), and Darwin Borrely (DPS-NE Wisconsin).
